Spring blooms with a smile.
Sunny days bring thoughts of May.
Patiently we wait.
The sun always shines on a senior pet.
This one’s the sweetest that I’ve ever met.
Though she is slow, and her back legs are lame.
She still wears those smiles, and she loves me the same.
And I love her more for the challenges she does face.
She handles them with style and with amazing grace.
How lucky is she, how lucky am I?
We’ll cherish each day, before we say goodbye.
I carry a little notebook with me each day covered with flowers of pink and purple.
Inside I pen quotes I unearth in this journey called life.
Those that move my heart.
And my soul.
Many reflect on hope.
And increasingly, on this thing called aging.
I added new wisdom this morning shared by Prince, as part of a Rolling Stone interview in 2011.
Known for being a spiritual man, it seems Prince will live forever in his own special way.
“…I don’t believe in age. When you wake up, each day looks the same so each day should be a new beginning. I don’t have an expiration date.”
In case your wondering, I copied his words in my book with purple ink as the sun rose yet again.
In spite of falling rain.
